Beamscheme will open various 2D image formats such as Windows bitmap (BMP), Tagged Image Format files (TIFF), Joint Photographic Expert Group (JPEG) files and Portable Network Graphic (PNG) files. For colour images only the red channel is imported. It is recommended that only monochromatic images are used for analysis. Colour images can be converted to monochrome using tools such as GIMP or ImageJ.
